The following guidelines are intended to improve the experience for all forum users. They should be adhered to by all users and enforced by all Moderators. The Have You Seen the One I Love forums are open to all, providing a Christian ethos is respected. We welcome debate and discussion, and would like to remind all users to treat all people with charity and respect. THREATENING BEHAVIOUR 1. You will not post any messages that harass, insult, belittle or threaten another member or guest. This will include misquoting another member out of context. You may discuss another member\'s beliefs but there will be no personal attacks on the member himself or herself. This includes implied accusations that another member is not a Christian. KEEP THE PEACE 2. You will not post anything that disrupts the peace and harmony of this forum. This also includes posts that put down Christianity in general or any posts considered as blasphemy by staff or posts that put down Orthodox Christianity or any other Christian group or denomination. This includes links to websites in profiles and signatures. This will be enforced at the discretion of the moderating team. This will also include members entering inaccurate personal details in their profile in order to gain access to restricted forums. NO SPAMMING 3. To avoid spam on this site the posts of all users will be moderated, users will only be approved if the moderators are happy their post does not contain spammed links or advertisement. You will not post any messages anywhere on this site that are primarily for the promotion or advertising of any website, email address, business, MLM, activity, church, ministry or other entities that you have an affiliation with (ie. no self-promotion). You will not cross-post the same message in multiple forums. You will not make useless posts to spam your post count. You will not post your email anywhere on this site - people can email you via the site by clicking on the email button - this way your email address remains private. You will not mass-PM or mass-email multiple members of this site the same message. You will not beg or solicit reputation points/ donations in posts or PMs. To prevent users posting excessive amounts of threads the following rules apply: NO OFFENCE 4. You will not post or PM any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-orientated, hateful, threatening, racist, sexist, discriminatory, blasphemous, satanic or otherwise violative of any local or international laws, or anything that encourages drug use or relates to gambling. This includes links in your signature, profile, bookmarks as well as posted images, photos and avatars. This includes the posting of copyright material (for example, pirated software or music). Text sourced elsewhere on the internet should only be posted in full with the permission of the site it is taken from. Avatars, fake email addresses or usernames that are blatantly offensive will result in an automatic ban. Sexual harrassment, stalking and other related behavior at the forum will result in an automatic ban. Moderators will ultimately decide if something is appropriate or not. While these forums are open to all, they are primarily Christian and, although users are welcome to put forward other theological opinions, attacks on the Coptic Orthodox Church or any Christian Church will not be tolerated. Debate and discussion is encouraged. NO POSTS ABOUT SPECIFIC MODERATOR ACTIONS 5. You will not post questions or comments about the specific actions of a moderator in a public forum (eg. editing a post, deleting a thread, banning a member), as this remains a private matter between the member and the staff involved. However, members may PM or email a moderator at anytime. General questions about staff and feedback about moderators are allowed, just not specific questions about a particular moderator action. All decisions to edit, move or delete a post or thread are based on this set of rules listed here. BANNING USERS 6. This is the official Forum staff protocol to the warning, suspension (or temporary banning) and banning of members. These rules apply to all members, Christian and non-Christian, and includes staff themselves. The Protocol: First rule broken is usually given an unofficial warning as a PM. Three further warnings over a span of a year, a permanent normal ban is mandated. All warnings can issued by any moderator. The moderator should PM the member to let the member know, then make a post in the Moderator Forums so that other moderators can discuss the decision, which can be overturned by an Administrator. Members who feel that they have been unfairly given a warning may appeal the warning by contacting an Administrator or another Moderator. It is hoped that the above protocol will ensure that members are treated fairly and given the best chance to remain as members before any action is required. -------------------------------------------------- Thank you for your cooperation. |
